Digital Art for Curious Creatives

calling artists + creatives of all ages
Welcome. I’m a curiosity-led, playful experimental digital artist, and I'd be thrilled to introduce you to some of the tools I use to help you expand and evolve your practice.

What would you like to explore?

These require equipment, such as a computer, iPad or VR headset – but I will provide these for introductory sessions.

I offer in-person sessions one-on-one or in groups, in my Cambridge studio, in King's Lynn, or onsite at your home or institution. I also teach online using Zoom or Google Meets.
Available packages:
one-off exploratory labs
half/full-day/multiday workshops
ongoine hourly sessions (weekly, etc)

Please indicate what you’d like to explore in the form below, and we’ll work out a bespoke plan.

Fees start at £50 per hour per person. Larger-group labs and workshops start at £300 per day.

All ages & levels welcome. No experience necessary. DBS certified

ABOUT ME

Curiosity-led, playful, transformative… I facilitate digital art experiences for the creatively curious of all ages and skill levels, happily guiding brave souls into the thrilling and fascinating world of digital artmaking.

I’ve been working at the forefront of emerging technologies since the early days of the internet, and have spent the last several years producing town-scale mixed-reality public art projects and exploring collective artmaking on the blockchain. See some of my work here and on this website.

My practice is driven by curiosity, play, dreaming up wild ideas and possibilities and figuring out how to make them happen using novel tools. Let’s liberate creativity and unleash imagination!

I’ve taught/spoken about digital artmaking at:
Wysing Arts, Norwich University of the Arts, Collusion Cambridge, GroundWork Gallery, College of West Anglia, This is England, Historic NFT Fest, Purfleet Trust, Outlands Experimental Music Network, Wildemoehre, Neotists, NFT London

TESTIMONIALS

In summer 2023, Karen ran a series of workshops on digital art for us at The Purfleet Trust. Working with a group of participants who have low digital literacy, Karen demystified some of the tools used in digital artmaking in a way that was unintimidating, creative and fun. The group not only created some beautiful work but also boosted their confidence, particularly in AI and digital design. Karen is a fabulous facilitator and we loved working with her. – Natalie Songer, The Garage

Thank you so much for guiding me so expertly and clearly through the process of setting up an NFT store. Without your helpful step-by-step introduction I would have found it impossible to get started to showcase my work in this new realm.

Before today I had only a very hazy idea about the blockchain and NFTs and what was required to participate – so thank you so much for the time and patience you showed in initiating me into the NFT world. – Frances Sander, artist
